Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a Canadian, an athlete, a friend, a lover of the outdoors, a soon to be missionary. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have a passion for sports and played Volleyball, Basketball and Rugby through High School. Ever since I was little I have always loved to read and get lost in a good book, which has sharpened my brain, helping me get good marks in schooling and put me second in my graduating class. I love to spend time with my family outdoors either going for walks, hiking, and especially camping! I have been working hard to save money for my mission and school afterwards. When I get home from my mission I hope to become an ultrasound technician.

Why I am a Mormon

My family are all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I was raised in the church. But, that is not why I am a Mormon today. I am a Mormon because it makes me a better person, helps me grow, and gives me the opportunity to help others feel of the Love of our Savior Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of my own that this is the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth. I am a Mormon because I know that there is no other way back to our Father in Heaven but through living in accordance with the teachings of his gospel. I love the strength I get from reading my scriptures and attending my church meetings. I am a Mormon because it just makes sense! It makes me happy! I am a Mormon because I asked God and he always answers.

How I live my faith

I always told my family, and my teammates in high school that "I am a Mormon, on and off the court." I believe in having integrity and holding my same standards including those of language and behavior regardless of where I am. I live my faith through the little everyday things in life. I have had opportunities to serve with the women of the church and have developed a great love for them. It is important to me to be willing to talk and give advice to those in need regardless of my busy schedule, to love, support and be a friend to all those around me. I have enjoyed being on youth dance committees, being a leader in my youth groups, acting as an activities coordinator, teaching lessons on Sunday, and soon I will get to serve as a missionary. I am lucky to be in this church I want to share the same happiness I have with everyone around me and so I have accepted the call to serve a mission for 18 months in the Peru Chiclayo mission.
