Hi I'm Cassie

I grew up in Utah. I love adventure and travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family consists of my wonderful parents, my three older brothers and their wives and children, and myself! I have done a year and a half of school, first at Utah State University, then to Brigham Young University in Hawaii. During both experiences, and throughout my life, I definitely looked for adventurous and exciting things to do. As I grew up with three older brothers and a very adventurous father, I learned to love to try new things, foods, experiences, and whatever else! As well as learning to be tough with lots of teasing. We love to play outside, whether it's golfing, swimming, throwing a frisbee, or four-wheeling and camping, we just love to be together to share experiences and laughter. I have a strong desire to travel and am constantly looking up places to go and I'll take it a step at a time to work on getting to as many places as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of this church because it brings happiness. It has brought my family together and all its teachings lead to genuine and lasting joy, and as I live the teachings, my life is better, which is not to say that I don't still have trials, challenges, struggles, questions, and so on, but with the knowledge the gospel brings, and the guidance of His Holy Spirit, those experiences are possible. I feel that some think that members are restricted and have too many rules placed upon them about how to live their lives, but we understand and know that following commandments brings more freedom and control over our lives, as well as genuine joy and love. I also choose to be a Mormon because living this gospel has brought me much closer to my Father in Heaven, and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that through Christ, I can make it back to God and live eternally in joy and His love, because he made it possible through His atoning sacrifice. I love Him so much and I love this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day to day, and it's something I work on each day. I feel that it is important to strive to be a good example of service, love, kindness, and happiness, which are exactly the things the gospel brings into my life. I was raised in the church, but I still had to work on gaining my own testimony, to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church, restored on the Earth today. I haven't ever had one shining moment or angelic vision that told me it is true, but have worked on my testimony my whole life and it has grown throughout experiences and study of the Book of Mormon, Bible, and other gospel doctrine. I have had to work on my testimony, but I know Heavenly Father loves me and wants the best for me so I have tried to have faith and push through even in times of trial or challenge, and he has blessed me so much in my life. I am now about to leave to serve a mission in Guatemala because I have come to love this gospel and this church with all my heart and soul. It brings so much happiness and comfort and I want others to be able to feel these things as well.
