Hi I'm Nick

Who would have thought that God could be found in "Sin City"? I sure didn't; yet God touched me enough to get me on a mission.

About Me

I was born in Utah. While young, my family moved around quite a bit until we all settled in Henderson Nevada, adjacent to Las Vegas. In Vegas, I spent the majority of my time engaged in various sports and activities that kept me involved. During high school, bouncing around social circles and seeking personal identity, I found myself asking questions concerning my purpose in life; whether or not God had truly established a unique plan for me. This was the first time that I really started seeking my Heavenly Father. Following the counsel of my parents and church leaders, I began to read the Book of Mormon. That beautiful book changed my life. To this day, The Book of Mormon brings a tranquil peace unlike any other. I found myself, and I found my God. I eventually graduated high school in 2013, and was blessed to be called to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary. As a missionary, It is my pleasure to share The Book of Mormon with others and help them find that same peace that changed me.

Why I am a Mormon

Matthew 7:7 states: "Ask and it shall be given you, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened." The Lord answers prayers, and He has shown me the light. By continually knocking, the Lord has showed me that he loves me, wants to help me, and has a purpose for me. This is why I choose to be Mormon. The Book of Mormon led me to God. "By their fruits ye shall know them." If the Book of Mormon led me to God, how can it be evil? I know that the Book of Mormon is true; thus, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the church of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow Jesus Christ. I tell you, this isn't always the easiest thing. Being human, it's easy to get angry and upset or want to do all the stuff that you see on TV; but I testify that there's nothing more fulfilling than following the example of our Savior. There are a number of ways that we can follow Christ: - Attending church. It is at church that we can partake of the holy sacrament. By being baptized, we show that we have repented of our olds sins, promise to take the Savior's name upon us (meaning that we'll keep his commandments), and our sins are washed away. At church, by taking the sacrament, we can renew this covenant (two-way promise between God and man), be re-washed of our sins if we are repentant, and have the promise of always having the Father's Spirit with us. It is also at church that I can learn the Lord's doctrine and set goals to better myself. The Spirit can be so strong in these sacred chapels, but that depends on us. We get out of it what we put into it. If you're chilling on your phone the whole time, the only thing you're going to feel is hunger! Put away the distractions and show your faith. - Reading scriptures. All throughout history, God has talked to his people through prophets. These prophets have taken His sacred word and recorded it in sacred scripture like the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I can't tell you how many times I've had questions answered by reading the scriptures. - Service. I love Christmas. During this holiday we get to give to our heart's content and the Spirit is incredible! Upon trying to follow Christ, I found that we can feel the Spirit of Christmas everyday! As a missionary, I've seen the fruits of service. 1 Corinthians 13 talks about a special Christlike attribute called Charity. Charity is essentially the pure love of Christ. I can't say that I've ever truly been charitable, but in trying to obtain it, I've felt some of the most sincere joy ever.
