Hi I'm Patricia Gausnell

I am from Oregon, USA, and am serving as a senior missionary with my husband in the Australia Melbourne Mission.

About Me

I was born in Oregon, USA, and have lived there most of my life. My husband and I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shortly after we were married (50 years ago). I have loved being a Mormon all those years, and am so grateful to have this privilege. We have 8 children, 17 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. My favorite hobbies are genealogy and gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 and in high school, a girlfriend of mine joined the church. She told me about her new church and invited me to attend a youth activity. Later, some Elder missionaries came to our home and began teaching us the gospel. Before we finished the lessons from them, I married my sweetheart and moved to the town where he lived. Not long after that, some other Elders found our home there, and began to teach us. We were baptized together then, and soon we will have been members of the church for 50 years. I know that my membership in the church has helped me and my family to have a wonderful life. The things we have learned about how Heavenly Father wants us to live have helped us be happy and successful. We want to help others learn these things as well, so they can have these blessings in their lives. That is why we are spending two years of our lives and supporting ourselves financially as we fulfill our callings in Australia.

How I live my faith

My husband and I are currently serving as volunteer missionaries for the church in the Australia Melbourne Mission for 2 years. We are assigned to be Member and Leader Support Missionaries. We visit people and teach them about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can help them have joy in this life and in the life to come. We do all we can to serve and help the people we come in contact with.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Patricia Gausnell
Many times in my life I have had experiences in answer to my prayers that have been too unusual to be coincidental. I have tried to remember these experiences and often record them in my journal, so I can remember them later when I am troubled. Also, often I receive promptings through the Holy Ghost that I should do something or know something that will help me in my life, or that will help someone else. I have come to know these feelings or thoughts are communications from my Heavenly Father. I am so grateful to Him for His influence in my life. These "tender mercies" bring joy to me and make my life richer. Show more Show less
