Hi I'm Brittney Dunford

I'm a writer who bakes cupcakes and loves to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a baker, runner, aspiring author, and self proclaimed book worm. My dream is to write stories that will inspire to people to live the beautiful life they're hoping to live and to never be afraid to tell someone about it. I work as a full time head baker at a gourmet bakery that specializes in cupcakes, and part time as a journalist for a company that has me write the occasional article on young adult issues. I glory in beautiful things and enchanting words that make day to day life more fulfilling, and it's impossible to find me without one of my family members close by.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were, and still are, strong members of the Mormon church. My parents taught me young how to pray, read the scriptures, and attend church meetings. When I got older and it became easier to make my own decisions, I continued to do the things I was taught to do at such a young age because it made me happy and I felt the best about myself when I was studying, reading, understanding, and learning about our Savior's love for me. This gospel is a gospel of love and a gospel of hope. It is so much more than just doctrine to be studied and good news to be shared. It is all of that and the unwavering love The Father has for his blessed child and how strongly He is rooting for us to come home. He has prepared for us a way to come back home and dwell with Him again, and when I take those glorious steps closer to the divine love of The Father, I feel the happiest and my life is most fulfilling.

How I live my faith

I am a primary teacher and a Sunday School teacher. I teach 5, turning 6 year olds and I also teach 15, turning 16 year olds. I teach the little kids the first hour and then I teach the youth the second hour of church.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Brittney Dunford
The Book of Mormon is a witness of Jesus Christ. It is the corner stone of our religion, and it is a beautiful book that brings me great peace every single time I open it. It contains writings of Prophets that have come before us and had trials of their own. What they lived and went through is very different from what we go through today, but the relief they find through the Savior and the redeeming love of Christ. God continued to call prophets who understood Heavenly Father's plan for His children and the mission of Jesus Christ. These prophets continued to write and record what occurred in their time among their people. This book contains many miracles that revolve around saints keeping the commandments of Christ and the blessings they receive from standing tall in the gospel and leading by example. It is named after one of the last ancient prophets, Mormon. The Book of Mormon supports the bible and acts as another testament of Jesus Christ. It concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray to the father to know it is true, they will be blessed with that knowledge through the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
