Hi I'm Mason

I'm a full-time college student working to balance the many demands of life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life, and what a blessing it has been. I was raised in northern Utah, about twenty minutes north of Salt Lake City. I have a younger brother and sister, and strive to be a good example for them. My mom and dad have been married for almost 25 years now, and have given me a great example on how to act when I get married. In high school, my main academic focus was on architectural work. I interned at a local architectural firm, helping to design custom houses. This experience, along with the helpful guidance from my school instructor and project partner, helped me to win several first of state awards in the field, as well as being a national finalist on an architectural renovations team. Despite this success, I have chosen to make architectural design more of a hobby than a career option. I enjoy sketching out designs and drafting on the 3D computer software. Now attending school away from home, I don't get to see my family as much as I used to, living in an apartment right next to campus. I work part-time at the Campus Store in the textbooks department, where I work with great people and great personalities. I am an accounting major in the school of Business, but I'm still not sure exactly what career path I want to take after graduation. When time allows, you'll find me at the golf course, hitting a bucket of balls or playing a quick round after work.

Why I am a Mormon

I know, without a doubt, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on the earth today. I have received an undeniable witness that God has restored this church in our day to prepare the earth for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. I know that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ did appear to Joseph Smith in the First Vision, and that through Joseph Smith, by the will of the Father, the Book of Mormon is restored and the Church is on the earth once again. I know of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. It is indeed another testament of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know that Christ lived on the earth and performed countless miracles. I know that he suffered all pain, all guilt, all anguish and all suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane when he atoned for all of my sins, your sins and all the sins of the earth. I know that he died and resurrected three days later, providing the way for man to live again after death. I know the Plan of Salvation is real, that we will be reunited with our passed ancestors after death, and that families can be together forever. I know that we all have purpose in this life, and that through faithful prayer and study from the scriptures, we can find that purpose. I know that God has placed prophets on the earth to lead us, warn us and receive divine revelation for the direction of the church according the will of the Lord. I know of the power of His priesthood which I hold, and the ability I have to bless the lives of others. I cannot deny this testimony, and the knowledge and strength I receive from it each day is the reason that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have had several callings in the church, and all of which have helped to improve my talents and bless my life. Most of my callings have centered around music in the church. I have been blessed with talents in playing the piano and organ, as well as composing musical numbers for various ward members. I currently serve as a ward choir pianist and assistant ward organist. These callings have helped strengthen my testimony through music, and bring the Spirit into meetings and my life. I attend weekly missionary preparation classes at the Institute near my university. These lessons have helped deepen my understanding of the Gospel in preparation to teach the people of Mexico City, where I will be serving my mission. The content of the lessons is simple, but profound, and I enjoy studying the content in the lessons through the scriptures each morning.
