Hi I'm JaLayne Pugmire

I grew up like "Little House on the Praiirie" I'm the mother of five, grandmother of 10 living in So. California. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am presently a wife, mother, and grandmother. When I became a grandmother I felt young to have that title so my oldest grandson began calling me Sweetheart. Today all of my 10 grandchildren call me Sweetheart and I love it. My Heavenly Father has blessed me with so many wonderful things I find joy in every day. Birds singing in the morning, lovely sunsets, laughter, fresh flowers, long talks around the dinner table, wonderful friends, and playing games with family. Gardening gives me time to think and express gratitude to my Heavenly Father. I love Lake Powell and the beach in the summer, but Park City is my favorite place in the fall and early winter. I was 52 when the doctors discovered that I needed a defibrillator. I feel blessed to live in an age when we have such technology.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a long legacy of ancestorss who were faithful fo their testimony of the restored gosple of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I too have prayed and planted the seed of the truthfullness of the Book of Mormon in my heart. I have felt the spirit of this powerful book and the joy that comes in living by it's precepts. I know that a person can draw closer to Jesus Christ by studing and learning about the people who kept these records. They bore powerful testimony of the Savior and His atonement. I am a Mormon because being a Mormon brings joy and peace into my life. Everything i love and hold dear to my heart is because i have a testimony of the reality of Jesus Christ and the power of His atonement. This came because I am a Mormon and a disciple of Christ. I believe that being a Mormon most resembles the way Christ and His apostles set up His church on the earth. A Mormon is a person who is part of the family of the House of Isreal and an heir to all the blessings of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I am a Mormon because I believe in revelation and that we have a living prophet on the earth today. Mormons are seekers of truth. I believe that I have the truth of why I am here and where I am going after this life. I make decisions everyday based on this knowledge and my heart is filled with peace. A peace that the world can not bring me. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I start the day out with prayer and reading the scriptures. I try to take time to ponder on my relationship with the Savior. I think a large part of living my faith comes in expressing gratitude for my many blessings and treating others with kindness. I have faith that the Savior knows me and loves me. Living each day with this knowledge brings peace. I have faith that there is power in the atonement that can be effective in helping me live my faith. I've had many wonderful callings and opportunities to learn that service brings joy. I recently enjoyed discussing the scriptures early in the morning with the youth in our area. This was a rare treasure for me. My children have all played sports in our community and I worked with lots of organizations during this time in my life. I'm getting ready to be nestless for the first time in our married life, I hope to fill my time with the things that really matter. I live my faith by saying no to the things I know will not bring true happiness. This is not easy, but when I do discipline myself there is an inner peace and joy that fills my heart that is sweeter than any worldly pleasure. I think I live my faith by trying each day to be a better disciple of Christ.
