Hi I'm Erika

I play the violin, I enjoy web design and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Idaho girl and with that comes a love of potatoes, hiking and camping.I discovered I have a techy side to me a few years ago so I am majoring in Computer Technology. I enjoy making web pages and typing code. I also enjoy photography, tennis, and four-wheeling with my family. I love leadership and community service opportunities. I love getting involved and meeting new people. My favorite pastimes are spent with people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a sure testimony of Jesus Christ and his atonement. Yes, I have grown from the testimonies of my parents, but I have had personal experiences from God that have strengthened and built my own testimony. I know for myself that the true gospel has been restored to the earth once more by Jesus Christ himself through the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. It just feels so completely right. The fruits of this Church are so sweet. They are hope, faith, virtue and charity.Lives can be changed for the better and there is so much joy to be had in this wonderful religion. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live like Christ would. I try to treat others with kindness and teach others what I know to be true. I look for opportunities to serve in my community, home and school. I have found that there are always people that need a helping hand or someone to talk to. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints provides so many ways to serve in this manner. By being an active member, I find that I am strengthened by the grace of God and more motivated to become like my Savior Jesus Christ. I have the most wonderful opportunity to live my faith and serve a mission in New Jersey for 18 months to invite others to come unto Christ so they can have these same blessings.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe that God has been speaking to Prophets since the beginning of time. These prophets were commanded to make records of the word of God. This is what the Bible is. It is a record of ancient prophets, just like our Book of Mormon, which adds unto and expounds on the word of the Bible. We love the Bible and the truths it teaches us about Christ.
