Hi I'm Josh

I grew up in Utah. I love sports and the outdoors. I'm a high school student and a future missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I lived in Utah all my life until the middle of my junior year in high school when I moved to south Florida, which was a challenge but a great learning experience. I love playing and watching pretty much any sport, especially basketball, and just being outdoors. I also love music, whether it's playing the piano or guitar or just kicking back and listening. I'm a future missionary in Managua, Nicaragua and when I get back I'll be a student at the University of Utah. The most important things in my life are my family and Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, so it was always something normal for me as a kid. As I've gotten older though, I've learned for myself through feelings I know came from the spirit of God that this is really true. The gospel has brought me so much happiness in my life and given me such great opportunities to grow as a person, which also testifies to me of its truth. I really have felt closer to Jesus Christ as I've done my best to follow the teachings and to learn more. My motivation to serve a mission comes from this happiness and closeness to Christ I have felt, and I want other people to experience those feelings too. I know I am far from perfect and that my testimony could be much stronger, but that is why I love this church because I know that God only expects us to do our best and He will help us. It gives me hope to keep going every day with whatever I do.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and do my best to always keep it with me. Going to church with my family is something that brings us together and helps us feel God's love, and it is a great way to start/end each week. I attend church services every Sunday, where I serve as an assistant in leading 16-18 year old young men, which I love doing. I also go to a class each morning before school from 6-7 with other high school aged members. It is great to spend time with friends who are committed to the same beliefs that I have. I will be serving a mission for two years, starting July 23, 2014, in Managua, Nicaragua to take the gospel that has blessed me and shaped my life and share it with the people there.

Are Mormons Christians?

Josh
We are absolutely 100% Christians. Jesus Christ is the center of our religion. I really believe this is His gospel and that He is at the head of it. Without Christ, our religion would be nothing. I believe He came to Earth, performed miracles and established His church, suffered for the sins of the world, and I believe He will come again; all of this because He loves us. Show more Show less
