Hi I'm Megan

I am a wife. I am a mother. My family means more to me than anything else. I'm Mormon.

About Me

My name is Megan. I am 26 years old and a mother to two little girls, ages 3 and 1. I am married to my most favorite person in the world and my best friend. My job currently is to raise our girls and keep our home running smoothly. We all love spending time outdoors - hiking, camping, and fishing. My husband and I both enjoy playing sports and keeping active. I especially enjoy cooking, knitting, gardening, and eating good food. My family is the most important part of my life and we all work hard, together, to make it work.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because through my participation in the church, I can feel the love of Jesus Christ. Things are complicated these days, with politics and social issues making things confusing and sometimes blurry. But, through out my time within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have always felt the love that the Savior has for me. I feel his love when I am serving others and when others are serving me. I feel his love when I attend the temple and learn about his plan for all of us. I feel his love when I attend church and listen to words of my brothers and sisters. I feel his love when I serve others, especially the children. I've had many experiences in my life that have testified to me that truth of this church. These experiences are undeniable and often times indescribable, and even in times of doubt I cannot deny their power and strength. As I've prayed and searched for the truth, I've had my questions answered and my doubts soothed. These experiences are made possible by the Holy Ghost, who communicated truth and love to me over and over again. Even through these experiences, I still find myself in times of doubt and confusion. I am constantly still searching and learning as I go, while praying and clinging to what I know is true. But I know God and Jesus Christ are there to help me and guide me through whatever trials I might face.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am currently involved with the children at our church. We call this organization "primary" and ours has so many wonderful and sweet kids. I teach, oversee Sunday School teachers and music leaders, work with other leaders to organize activities, and visit children in their homes. I love all of the children that I oversee and seeing their cute faces is definitely one of the best parts of my week. This responsibility can be overwhelming and trying at times, but it has helped me grow and learn in many different ways that just wouldn't have happened otherwise. It's helped me step out of my comfort zone and seek experiences that have richly blessed my life. Outside of my official responsibilities, there are other ways I live my faith. I pray, study the Bible, Book of Mormon and teaching of our church leaders. I worship at church and our temple and attend various activities hosted by the church. Being a member of the church isn't always convenient or easy, nor is my dedication always perfectly consistent, but I know it is worth it. Just like anything good, it requires work and dedication. And just like any other person, my dedication can wax and wane. But I know that it where I am supposed to be and what I am supposed to be doing.
