Hi I'm Daniel Justin Sherman

I love learning new things, I love working out, and I'm a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints

About Me

I was born in Layton, Utah in early 1996 to Clint and Suzanne Sherman. I was raised in Davis County, Utah and I learned from my parents to love doing new things. I have two older brothers named Matt, and Brad who are my examples and my best friends. I graduated from high school in 2014 and made many great friends there and had a great time for the most part. I enjoyed my science classes thoroughly and from that I discovered a love of trying to figure out how things work. I sang in choir for a several years but despite my efforts I never figured out how to read sheet music. As I was growing up, I was the little chubby kid in school. But at one point I took a good look at myself and noticed that I was overweight and I knew I needed to do something about it. I began to study exercise and nutrition in my spare time and I started to love working out and weightlifting and that has turned me into a health nut. I am currently serving as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I get to study the True, Restored, and living gospel each and every day and watch light and joy enter into peoples lives and they chose to live by the principles and ordnances of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints and raised in it all my life. However I came to a point in my life where, while I was raised in the church, I wanted to know for my self if this is the one true church on the earth and not lean on the experience of my parents or extended family; so I did the same as many before me. I began my own investigation of the church and in prayer I asked God if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Gods true church on the earth today and if the Book of Mormon is truly scripture. Up until that point in my life, I had the perspective of "how does religion fit in with what science is saying about the world?" I had the mind set that religion was important but not a big part of my life and that I needed to learn what scientific evidence tells about the world. However, When I was a junior in highschool a good friend and example to me motivated me to figure it out for myself. She got me to be more consistent in my scripture study and prayer and my mindset began to change. then a scripture began to bounce around in my mind (Matthew 6:33) "seek ye first the Kingdom of God..." so I began to make religion more of a priority in my life. As I did my perspective changed. Now it wasn't "how does religion fit in with what science is saying about the world?" but it was "how does the world fit in with Religion and the Gospel of Jesus Christ?" My testimony of the book of Mormon has grown over time with study to the point where I know that it is the word of God. As an apostle of the lord said, "no wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so." Their have been enough events in my life and have seen too many lives change for me to deny the hand of God in my life. I know that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is Gods true church on the earth today, Book of Mormon is scripture, and that God loves us.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a 2 year mission to invite others to come to Jesus Christ, to strengthen their faith in Him and to teach others about His restored gospel. I just try to do what I understand and feel to be right.
