Hi I'm Lindo

From the Philippines. Having great time with family... I love being a mormon!

About Me

I served as full time missionaries in 1982 in the Philippines Baguio Mission under president Menlo Smith. I work as facilities manager for the church. I travel a lot in south east of Mindanao

Why I am a Mormon

In my childhood i was taught by my grand ma to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. After she died, my mother took me back and introduced me to the missionaries. I was baptized at age 18 after two weeks of missionary teaching... I served full time mission at age 19 under Pres. Menlo Smith in Philippines Baguio Mission. I strive to live the gospel in my life. I married in the temple to a beautiful and faithful wife. We now have 6 children. Two of them have returned from missions. One will report this June. One daughter has married the temple to a faithful returned missionary. We decided to live the gospel all our life because we know that this is true. As we strive everyday, there comes in our life a greater sense of belonging to an eternal family of Heavenly Father... A greater longing of the Lord Jesus Christ's forgiveness. As a family we have great enjoyment because we stay close to the church... It is a great life to have the pearl of great price - the gospel plan of Heavenly Father and the atoning love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the very Son of the Living God.

How I live my faith

I serve as young men leader and love to teach the restored gospel of Jesus Christ to the youth. I also serve as counselor to mission president. I enjoyed teaching the gospel and sharing my testimony with many people and church leaders in our mission. Our two sons are returned missionaries. One will serve in June. Our daughter married in the temple. We strive to share the gospel every day through conversations with people and by working with full time missionaries. We invite missionaries in our home always and we have fun...

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Before the beginning of time, Jesus was with God. God was and will always be good, loving, caring, just and merciful. Jesus also was God. His name then was Jehovah. God the Father is the father of our spirit that is inside our body. God the Father made this earth through Jehovah and placed us here to receive physical body as a temporary existence. We are here to use our God-given personal agency to choose the right over wrong, that we may know good from evil. We are to gain knowledge of good and evil. The purpose of this knowledge is for God the Father to test us whether we choose good over evil. The world we are in now is not only temporary but also full of good and evil, either from our natures or from influence of evil men who do not choose to be good. Part of the plan of God is for our physical body to die. Death separates our spirit from our body. Death & sin separate us from God. Because of this, we cannot return to our Eternal Father his Celestial Heavens. The atonement is that JESUS was sent by God the Father to save us from everlasting death by the gift of resurrection. It means our spirit will receive a new and everlasting body. Another meaning of the atonement is that JESUS redeems us from everlasting separation from God the Father by giving us the Father's commandments that if obeyed will qualify us to return to our Eternal Father. Only through faith in Jesus Christ, repentance of sin and obedience to him will qualify us to live with God in the eternities.... Show more Show less
