Hi I'm Kyla steed

I grew up on a farm, I like hiking, camping, hunting and being outdoors. I am leaving to serve a mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Living on a small acreage I grew up learning how to work hard and enjoy God's creations. My parents were always about spending lots time together as a family. Durning the summer we were always going on hikes and camping, and in the fall I would often go hunting with my dad and brothers. I have recently graduated from high school and am now leaving my home and my family which I love to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a member of the church and I had always believed what was taught, but I never really knew for myself if what I believed was true. I came to a point in my life where I realized that I wanted to know for myself, and that I didn't want to believe just because others did. I wanted to live the gospel because I knew and believed that it was true, so I studied the Book of Mormon, and I pondered and prayed about it. I know that God is real, and because He loves us so much He sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ down to earth to suffer, bleed and die for us. Christ not only atoned for our sins, but He suffered for all our pains, and all our heartache. He knows exactly what each of us personally has and is going through, and because of this He is able succour us. I personally know that the Church of Jesus Christ is true and that God truly does want us to be happy, and to return to live with Him again some day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be as christ was and one of the ways I do this by serving others. I learned how to serve others from my mother. She is such a great example to me of service because she is always looking for ways to help others by giving of her time and talents when someone is in need. I also strive to follow Christ's great example of obedience and sacrifice. He always did what was asked of Him, especially when it came to performing the atoning sacrifice. I cannot imagine what life would be like without the atonement. I follow this example by always accepting callings in my church and doing whatever is asked of me.
