Hi I'm Mckay Smith

I'm Canadian. I'm a farmer. I love music and the mountains, And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised near the mountains of southern Alberta. My favourite colour is orange and if you see me on the street I'll probably be wearing basketball shorts and a hoodie. My self acquired theme that I live by is "smile for life" :) I've lived on a farm my whole life where my parents have taught me the values of hard work and saving money. I am the oldest in my family of six with two younger sisters and a brother. My dad is a software developer as well as a rancher and pig farmer. I enjoy listening to great music and anything to do with being outdoors come snow or sunshine. I've taken a special interest in survival and camping, which works out great because I live so close to the Rockies. When I was 15 I started my own business of raising and selling chickens, which helped me pay for part of my mission. I have been called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to Colorado Colorado Springs. This is something I have been preparing for ever since I gained a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, because it is a way for me to share my beliefs with others and show them how to feel the joy and happiness that comes from living the gospel. I invite you to contact the Mormon missionaries if you would like to learn more about the gospel and Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon!! Living the gospel brings peace and happiness to my life because of the knowledge that I have about the plan of salvation. I know where I came from, why I am am here, and where I will be going when I die. Heavenly Father has a wonderful plan based on helping us to be able to grow and learn and be happy and eventually return to live with Him if we are faithful. When I pray to God, I know he is listening, that he knows exactly what I am going through, and that he will answer my prayers. I have faith that the Holy Ghost can show me what I need to know to live righteously. I know that Jesus Christ Lives! He was born, He taught and administered the gospel, He atoned for your sins and for mine, He died, and three days later He was resurrected! There is a living prophet on the earth today. Right now! He has the ability to receive revelation from God concerning the world and how to run the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This prophet holds the priesthood, or the authority to act in God's name on earth. Joseph Smith was the first prophet of this Dispensation and he was key in restoring the Gospel to the earth. Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon which is another Testament of Jesus Christ. I invite any who read this to read the Book of Mormon. By reading that book, people can get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book. I have read it and I have taken Moroni's challenge at the end of the book to "ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true," and I testify that I received a witness that it was true and that you can too! Living the Gospel is honestly the key to being happy:) As I'm writing this, I'm 18 years old. I may not know very much about the world or the universe but I DO KNOW that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the same church that Jesus Christ formed during his earthly ministry. I know that God loves us all!

How I live my faith

Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ affects every part of my life. It helps me choose the right, love others, feel peace, and be happy. I attend church meetings and set aside Sundays as a day of worship, and strive to become more like my Saviour every day. I use the power of the atonement that Jesus Christ has provided through his sacrifice to repent constantly because I make mistakes every day. This has helped me to become a better son, friend, brother, and person. Service is one of the biggest parts of my faith, and I have been called to serve as a missionary for the next two years of my life to teach others about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints so that they can feel the same happiness and peace that I feel every day. Most of all I just try my best to love everyone I meet and be happy. :)
