Hi I'm Benjamin

I am Texas born, and Texas raised. The only thing I love more than the Gospel, is the Author. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was home-schooled for most of my life. I am very oriented towards the arts; specifically music, photography and writing. I am a sophomore in college, but I am about to serve a mission in Lisbon, Portugal. I love English, and most anything having to do with communication. I am an Eagle scout, and a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I like running, racquetball, acting, writing, playing guitar, and learning. I am a pretty normal guy, with a pretty unique life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for the same reason I am about to serve a Mission. It makes me happy. Alma 29 verse 9 is one of my favorite scriptures, and it is going on my missionary plaque. It reads: "I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy." The very last line line is what gets me every time. No part of the plan of salvation is without the ultimate goal of making us, the children of God, happy. Heavenly Father has so many gifts for us, and why would we not want them all? The Book of Mormon brings us as close to all of these gifts that we can get, and the best part is that there are more to come. I am Mormon because I should be (having had the truth given to me by my Heavenly Father), and I am Mormon because I want to be.

How I live my faith

Diligently, and always. Following the Savior and trying to be like him are not easy tasks. It takes courage to stand up for what is right. Jesus Christ is my friend, and I love him dearly. Sometimes we have to defend the ones we love. I know that when I stand up for him, he will stand up for me. We know that "faith without works, is dead." Knowing that, we need to be always seeking after good things. I do my best to keep myself busy with worthwhile pursuits, and to be in places I can feel the presence of the savior. I love to teach, and speak in church. Preparing a lesson with a mind to teach others is often the most rewarding learning experience we gain. All in all, I do my best to live my faith the way we all should. With my whole heart, mind, might ,strength, soul, time and life. I live my faith willingly, and happily.
