Hi I'm Adam Allred

I am a full time student. I am a wrestling coach, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Adam, and i am the middle of 5 kids. I began wrestling at the age of 8 and even though my competitive career is over i love coaching kids and helping them become champions. I enjoy anything that involves fitness, especially backpacking and rock climbing. I am in college studying economics and philosophy. I enjoy writing poetry and hope to be published one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon since birth, but that does not mean i have been a disciple of Christ since birth. I was dead set against the church for a period of time and was planning not to go on a mission at all. Once i turned 18 i thought I would just leave. But within the time that I decided to be an atheist/agnostic and when I turned 18 i had a change of heart. My life felt entirely empty and without purpose, and a previously bout with sever depression returned. Luckily my parents, a bishop and a pair of sister missionaries helped me get my faith back. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is the true and everlasting gospel of Christ. And because Christ died for all of our sins, transgressions, pains, sicknesses, whether they be big or small we all can feel of His love and peace. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that there is a prophet alive today. I love this church with all of my soul and it has helped me love my fellow men as Christ does. I am so grateful for Christ, for his sacrifice and love for us. I am grateful to have be given the chance to be born into this faith, and the peace that it brings.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday, whether I am at school, at home or at work. I know people watch my example, so being as Christ-like as possible is very important to me. I participate in the youth group in my ward, and i will be serving a mission soon. Anytime I can testify of Christ i take the chance, hoping that whoever hears me will feel of his love. I apply my faith to my studies as much as i can and i have found so much of this gospels truths through them.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Adam Allred
It is important to remember that Christ did not want to die. In the gospel of Luke it says that he asked Heavenly Father to "lift the bitter cup". But Christ loved his Father, and he loved us, his fellow brothers and sisters, so he made the ultimate sacrifice. He felt every emotion and pain and sickness possible on an unimaginable scale. This atonement is the center of the Gospel and his love is the good news that this church has brought back to the world. It does not have a limit, no matter how many times one has fallen, or if the person is no longer in this life. He is an eternal being, and so is his sacrifice. Show more Show less
