Hi I'm Abby winberg

I am a Latter Day Saint currently serving a mission for 18 months in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma mission.

About Me

My name Is Abby Winberg, I am just a corky 19 year old girl from Layton, Utah with a small but happy family. I am currently serving in the Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Mission. I like smiling, talking to people, breakfast, and the color yellow!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a little girl both of my parents were not active in the LDS Church, they had decided to take an alternative path. In doing so they found much sorrow and grief brought upon them by the choices they were making. Finally it was impossible to navigate through the darkness, my family was going to fall apart. But my Father did not want to give up on our family just yet, and through the efforts of a wonderful LDS member, my Dad finally knew where to look for our rescue. We decided to start going back to church and to try to change and repair all that had been damaged. My parents, through the atonement of Jesus Christ, were able to mend the wounds of our broken family. They were strong enough to face their sins and come back to Christ and our Heavenly Father. I know that my families salvation was a true and ever lasting miracle. I know that my Heavenly Father saw fit to call such lost sheep back to the Shepperd (1Peter 2:25). Repentance is never an easy process, it is hard to face the depth of our wrong doings(Alma 36:13-21). But I know that without the promise of redemption through the repentance process (Mosiah 4:10) I would not be where I am today. My parents have taught me such vital lessons that I will use all through out my life. It has established a testimony in me that cannot and will not be shaken. I now know what it truly means to watch the light of the Lord (John 1:4-9). He is the might savior and as we see through out scripture, He can and will pull us from the depths of our seas (Mathew 12:26-32), He can feel when we are reaching out to him and our deep desires to be made whole through his virtue (Luke 8:43-48), and he gives us reason to hope for a better world (Ether 12:4). I am so thankful to the Lord for all that he has done for my and for my family. I am thankful to be sealed to them in His holy temple. These blessings are worth every trial I will ever face. And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I have had the privilege to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. So far my mission experience has been absolutely wonderful. I have had to give up many different worldly possessions and privileges. Including seeing my family for a year and a half. But for my time out here, living the fullness of my faith. I have been able to serve others with all my effort and through God I have seen miracles. I am so proud to live the live of a LDS missionary.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Abby winberg
We are put on this earth to help each and every child of God. I know that on my mission I have had the chance to serve different people, all wonderful children of Heavenly Father, but not all were members of our church. We are commanded to love every person in order to show love for God.. Why would we miss the wonderful opportunity to help out our brothers and sisters? Show more Show less
