Hi I'm Janel

I'm a wife, mother, event marketing professional, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very blessed wife and mother. I graduated with a bachelors in marketing and an MBA and am currently working as an event marketing manager and marketing consultant. I have grown up living between Hawaii and California, having moved back and forth multiple times. I love traveling, spending time with my family, and doing anything creative/beautiful.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Catholic faith. I attended Catholic schools my entire life, including college, and was an on and off active member. I honestly identified and still identify with the Catholic church's beliefs and values. I really had no intention of converting to another religion. When I was pregnant with my first child, my husband and I decided we wanted to raise our son with a religious foundation and he had converted to the church when he was in high school. So I agreed to investigate the church and it was a full year before I finally converted. I have never felt more at peace with a decision in my life, which is a little ironic because I was anxious and nervous about the decision leading up to it. My decision to join the church came when I was able to see that joining the church didn't have to mean "turning my back" on the Catholic church. When you start to learn about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, you can see that the church and its teachings complete the teachings of the Catholic church. There are questions that the church answers that you may have never thought to question, but the church gives you such clarity and completeness that is hard to deny. And I tried. I tried to deny the fullness and peacefulness that I was feeling, but I hit a point where I just couldn't deny it any longer. Our Heavenly Father blessed me in so many ways when I was investigating the church and it too me awhile to realize those blessings, but once I did, I knew that I was ready.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through putting time and effort into my callings as a young women's teacher and visiting teaching supervisor. Through creating lesson plans I continue to learn more about the church and deepen my faith as I just recently joined the church about a year ago. And as a visiting teaching supervisor I am able to strengthen my relationships with my sisters and exercise empathy, compassion, and love.
