Hi I'm Daniel

Husband and father, Christian, liberty lover, photographer, website optimizer, technologist, autodidact of many things.

About Me

I am interested in many things: photography, technology, the Internet, writing, self-improvement, hiking, ancient history, geography, the ocean, mountains, astronomy, weather, teaching, health, liberty, music, religion, and so much more. I am happily married to an outstanding woman and have five beautiful children. I live in Utah with my family. I am employed by Adobe as a Consultant/Digital Marketing Strategist, where I help companies optimize their websites using A/B testing. I often take photos and each day I share a new photo of mine on my website (danielhopkins.com) and via social media. I love capturing the beauty of this world and turning it into a work of art. I have much to be grateful for.

Why I am a Mormon

I have had many personal and sacred experiences that have helped me to develop my faith in God. I know that He is real, that I'm one of his children, that he loves me deeply, and that I have a purpose. Viewing things from this perspective has helped me to make sense of life and of my place in time and space. I'm actively involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I believe that this is the organization that houses the Lord's doctrines and ordinances and the authority (Priesthood) to administer both. I have been blessed greatly and been given wonderful opportunities as a member of the Church. Truly, the Church and all that comes with it has been one of the most influential parts of my life to date. I'm happy to share more if you're interested!

How I live my faith

I'm in the process of seeking to understand and align myself with things as they really are. I try to be open to change, to see beyond tradition and dogma, and to face the uncomfortable questions, if needed. I believe that science and religion, if both are aligned with truth, need not be at odds. I believe in liberty and have deep feelings about freedom. Here are just a few of the things that I've found to be true, in my seeking and from my life's experience: - that love is powerful and the most important thing in life - that God is real and is interested in us and that he will draw near to us as we seek Him - that we can change, improve, and be reconciled with God - that the practices of daily scripture study and daily prayer can stabilize our lives and help us to find direction and peace In short, I believe in the doctrine of Jesus Christ and try to align my life and beliefs with truth.
