Hi I'm Carolina

I am a navy brat. I am a lover of reading. I'm serving my mission in the Philippines. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I started college Fall 2013, and it's been a challenge learning how to survive college classes while balancing a social life, reading books, and finding time to do laundry and grocery shop. Nevertheless, I love being at college. I've been challenged so much and it has helped me become a better me that I could not have even imagined last year. However, I am now going on mission to the Philippines. I am excited to meet the people there and to share my happiness with them. I know that by teaching others about the Plan of Salvation, the Restoration of the gospel, and of the Atonement I will be happier as I give others the key to happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for my whole life, but I have visited other churches. I choose to be a Mormon because I feel peace and hope when I go to church as well as when implement the things I learn there into my life. I choose to be a Mormon because that is what makes me happy and helps me help others be happy, too.

How I live my faith

I'm trying to live my faith every day through the little things. I have personal prayer several times a day, I get up early so that I can have my scripture study before my roommates get up, and I listen to the Holy Ghost as he points out service opportunities and things I should know while I study. I hope that I can help those around me feel our Heavenly Father's love by being worthy to be His hands in their lives. On my mission I hope to become better at having a conversation with my Heavenly Father through prayer and I look forward to having a companion to study the scriptures with. As I read the scriptures, I come to know my Heavenly Father and my Savior better. I love spending time getting to know them as I do with my friends around me.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, all Mormons are not required to serve, but I have found that the more I learn about the gospel, the more I have a desire to share the gospel with those around me. I have chosen to serve a mission to further God's kingdom here on earth and to become a better instrument in His hands. As I serve the Filipino people I know that I will be doing what the Lord would do for them if He was there Himself. I want to be the hands by which He can do His work because I love Him and want Him to know that I am willing to go where He wants me to go, say what He wants me to say, and do what He wants me to do. I know that this is the way to happiness and eternal life. Show more Show less
