Hi I'm Maryann

I grew up in Missouri and now live near Raleigh, NC. I love to knit, sew and read. I have two children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, usually Young Adult Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels. I taught myself how to knit and enjoy making scarves for others. I sew clothes as well- usually pajamas for my children. My daughter is 12 years old and has high-functioning Autism. My son is 11 years old. My husband I have been married for 13 1/2 years. We married on Friday the 13th - on purpose!

Why I am a Mormon

My mother and grandmother heard about the church from the Osmond singers. They would travel for hours to attend their concerts. As I was born into the church, it was easy to depend on my parents' testimonies but through youth scripture classes I gained my own testimony. I know the church is true and that our Heavenly Father loves us very much. I feel that it is very important to listen to the Holy Ghost and His promptings and try to live my life in a way that is pleasing to Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I currently conduct the music for the women's meeting. Each week, I use the lesson to pick out the hymns. I pray that the hymns I choose will help the other women feel closer to our Heavenly Father. I have worked in the nursery, taught the school-aged children and worked on the activities committee, which involved setting up and running church parties and dinners. I attend church weekly and read the scriptures regularly. I try to be a good example to my children and family by practicing Christlike qualities.
