Hi I'm Lorraine Nielsen

I grew up in Hiawatha, Utah. I am a mother and grandmother. I have been a Mormon all my life.

About Me

I am a mom and grandma. I love to make applique quilts for my grandchildren when they turn 12. I enjoy gardening with my husband - we made applesauce from our little apple trees last year. I have a bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Relations. I have 8 wonderful children and 35 amazing grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love the Gospel because of the teachings which guided me in raising a family. Many hard problems are avoided when you know the commandments of Jesus Christ and do your best to keep the commandments. Our Heavenly Father wants the best for us as we live our lives - He knows how we can obtain happiness and joy. We just need to follow His plan. I know it works! I have read the Book of Mormon many times in my life and have prayed and know this book is true and this church is the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the Mormon church. My parents and grandparents were members of the LDS Church and taught me the joy of serving. My husband and I organized a large scale service event in our area. Several hundred people were involved in cleaning up streets, painting a widow's house (outside), putting in a handicap ramp to a home, refurbishing fences, making a beautiful nature path for walking and then meeting at the city park for grilled hamburgers. Being involved in service for others is a great way to forget your problems and it brings happiness into your life and the lives of others.
