Hi I'm Alyse Armstrong

I grew up all over the western United States. I love music and horseback riding. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest child out of two. I grew up moving around a lot and have lived in Idaho, California, Washington, Nevada, and am now happily living in Utah. I enjoy reading almost anything I can get my hands on and believe one can greatly improve oneself through reading. I also love working with horses, I feel like it is the best therapy in the world! I love different crafts like sewing and knitting, but would love to improve those talents. I had the amazing opportunity, when I graduated High School to go visit Italy, France, and England and caught the travel bug on my way. I am currently preparing to go on a mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I don't have a moment when I knew this church was true, no flash of inspiration, no sudden "ah-hah" moment. The knowledge that I have of the truthfulness of this Gospel has come bit by bit as I studied the Bible, the Book of Mormon and modern revelation, as I prayed and felt the Holy Ghost, as I received promptings and acted upon them and felt that calm assurance of the Spirit. I know this Church was true, because for as long as I can remember, the things it taught just made sense to me. This church is not a "believe this because I told you to" church, if I have a question, I am encouraged to search and find the answer for myself. If I am unsure about the truthfulness of something I am taught, I am encouraged to study it out and pray about it so I can know for myself. I have done this and know with a surety that this is God's true church on the earth again and I know that anyone who really desires to know this for themselves can do so.

How I live my faith

I have the amazing opportunity to teach children at church. I teach the children age 7-9, and I probably learn more from them than they do from me! The spirit they bring and the service they give so willingly continues to uplift and encourage me. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life, and it influences my daily decisions. It helps me to choose, better, cleaner movies and TV shows to watch, books to read and music to listen to. It helps me eat better, and dress more modestly. The church encourages me to be kinder to others including those who may not believe or act the same way I do.
