Hi I'm Katie

I was not raised a Mormon. I was baptized at 16. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from BYU-Idaho with a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood/Special Education. While going to school, I met my husband and we have been married for almost two years. When we are not at work or at school, we love spending time with our families, friends, and just being outdoors. Some of our favorite outdoor activities are camping, bonfires, and anything around water like swimming, boating, or kayaking.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 16, I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I had a really good friend who was Mormon and took me to church with her. While attending church with her, we began to have a discussion about the church and its teachings. When I expressed interest in learning more about the church, I was asked if I would want to meet with the Missionaries and I said yes. A few weeks later, I had my first discussion with the Missionaries and I just felt the good the whole time they talked and felt God's love. I continued to meet with them and each time I felt better and better. At the end of the lessons, the asked if I would like to be baptized and to become a member, I said yes! I was baptized August 11th, 2007. It was the best discussion I have ever made and I have loved every minute of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. One of the biggest ways that I live my faith is by being friends and serving the people that I attend church with and in my community. Each month, I visit the sisters in my ward to share a message and to see if there is anything that I can do for them. Then throughout the month, I talk to and see them to make sure that everything is going well and if there is anything I can do for them. When families are moving or bring home a new baby, I try to do everything that I can do help them. I live my faith by loving and serving others.
