Hi I'm Maddie

I am a BYU student from California. I love music, nature, and laughing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fifth of six girls in my family. I also have three cool brother-in-laws, 6+ nieces and nephews, and the two best parents of all time. I grew up in an average American town in central California, and spent most of my time going to music lessons for piano and cello. On the weekends, I like exploring cool places in California with friends and family. We like to hike and sing and cook. I enjoy climbing trees and eating Wheat Thins with cream cheese. Soon I will be a missionary in Argentina! Hopefully one day, I will be a nurse and a wife and a mom.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, so I guess I've been Mormon my whole life. I chose to be baptized when I was eight years old, and felt a happiness then that I had never felt before! I read and prayed about The Book of Mormon, which brought me that same feeling of peace and joy. As a young adult, I now see how family influences and personal experiences led me to gain my own testimony. I know that God, our Heavenly Father, loves us enough to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from sin and pain. I know that Christ taught us the way we should live and that His restored gospel is found in the doctrine of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that living these commandments is the only way for us to be happy now and forever!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to act like our Savior, Jesus Christ. I imagine what He would think of people, say to people, and do for people. I think mainly that means loving them. On Sundays, I go to church with my family to worship and learn. Praying and studying the scriptures helps me to know what I should be doing and how I can be a better person. I am a "family history consultant" at our church, which means I help people research their ancestors! Soon I am going on an 18 month mission to preach the gospel of Christ in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
