Hi I'm Vincy S Stringham

I grew up in Utah. I am a mother of eight and married for 47 years. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to cook! I was one of 100 finalists in the Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest 2013. My entry was Potato & Ham Mini Frittatas. I was a stay-at-home Mom till children were in school. Started working part-time then developed career with a financial planning practice of 300 clients. After 18 years, I was able to sell my practice and care for my mother in our home for nearly three years. She suffered from dementia and Parkinson's disease. She passed away in 2012. I have been volunteering at local hospital for over 10 years. I also served as reading tutor in an elementary school. I recently become involved in the world of blogging. I love to serve in our church & community, but continue my love of cooking in attending to cooking groups per month. We also host a very large open house during the holidays. Love being a mother and a grandmother with our family being our first priority. My husband and I were high school sweethearts and have been married since 1966.

Why I am a Mormon

When age 18, I had been reading the Book of Mormon. At the end we are promised if we pray, we can receive an answer for ourselves as to its truthfulness. I knelt down and prayed and when I asked for an answer, my heart burned within me. I knew then what I know today. The gospel is true and has been restored to the earth during this last dispensation of time. We have a living prophet on the earth and the Priesthood has also been restored. Within our temples, we are able to be sealed for time and eternity. We can also do work for our deceased ancestors. What great peace and comfort this brings to my soul! I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and because of His atonement, we can live with Him again!

How I live my faith

I have served in so many church positions, they are too numerous to name. Our ward is our extended family. I love being a visiting teacher where I go visit with three other sisters in their homes each month. We are able to love one another and share a gospel message. We also have home teachers come to our home each month that watch over us and are there to help when needed. We always feel of their love and concern for us. Two of our sons served missions, one in South Korea and the other in Argentina. Each was for a two year period.
