Hi I'm Jordan

I grew up in Idaho. I love to fish and hunt with my dad and twin brother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to do anything outside. I play all sports casually and ran cross country competitively in high school. I plan to go on a 2 year church mission and then attend Brigham Young University, where I will study accounting. My family loves to go on walks, take hikes, and eat good food.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true. As a sophomore in high school, I read the Book of Mormon every night, recorded my thoughts, and when I finished, I prayed to know if it was true. I received an answer to my prayer, and I continue to read and love the Book of Mormon. I am also a Mormon because I know doing what is right is the only way to true happiness.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward by regularly attending Sunday meetings, going to Wednesday night activities and going to seminary. Sunday meetings provide a great spiritual recharge for the week, and Wednesday night activities are fun and strengthen my relationship with my other ward members. For one of my classes in high school, I am able to take seminary. This is a wonderful opportunity to be uplifted before/ after a hard day of school. I also live my faith my saying my prayers at every meal, morning, and night, and by studying the scriptures before my bed.

How does the Church finance its operations?

The church is financed through tithing. We are expected to pay 10% of our income, which will provide for the building of temples, maintaining church buildings, and funding other church operations. What you need to realized about tithing it is about faith, not money. The Lord does not need our money. If He wanted to the work could be financed in some other way. Paying tithing is a way we show that we are willing to do whatever the Lord requires of us. If we pay a full tithe, we are promised so many blessings that we will not be able to receive them all. I know that because I pay a full tithe, I have been given employment opportunities, budgeting skills, and many other blessings I would not have had otherwise. Show more Show less
