Hi I'm Elder White

I'm a soldier, I am a rock climbing, car fixing pilot and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an adventurer. I love being in the outdoors going rock climbing, hiking tall mountains or boating out on a lake. I'm an amateur mechanic, fixing what I can on my vehicle and those of my friends. Because of this, I also drive frequently. Whether its a motorcycle or a long road trip, I'm always on the road going somewhere. Right now I am in the Army National Guard working towards a helicopter pilot's license. Right now I am serving as a missionary for the Texas Houston South Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

During my teenage years, I was roaming from home to home because my family had kicked me out of their house. Because of all this change and emotional distress, the gospel was the one thing that I could rely on for a firm foundation. It gave me relief when I needed it, and has amazing doctrine that helps with my decision making process.

How I live my faith

I dont have any assignments in my church ward right now, however the best way that I participate is by sharing my faith with the friends that I hang around. Whether its at work talking about it while we're filling a quota, or outside with some rock climbing buddies that just happen to be curious about why I am the way I am.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Elder White
I dont know if you have talked to other people about this yet, if you have they mention a scripture in the book of Moroni found in our Book of Mormon. It says that if you pray sincerely about this you will have the spirit reveal to you that this book is true. Most people talk about a burning in their chest or a good feeling about it. For me it was a little different. I didn't get any real big deep, defined feeling. When I prayed about it there was no big revelation. Later on, I slowly came to the realization that it was true. It's comparable to the knowledge of the sun giving light. You don't all of the sudden go from night to noonday. There's a gradual progression of light that arrives as the sun comes up until our world is illuminated completely. The same principle applied to me with the book of mormon. I didn't know all at once that it was true but it came from a gradual progression of revelation. Show more Show less
