Hi I'm Ed Comer

I grew up in the state of Wyoming. I served a mission in Mexico City. My family is very active in the church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small mining town in Northeastern Wyoming. I served a full-time mission in Mexico City for two years and later married my wife in Utah. We attended Brigham Young University and later I went to graduate school at Purdue University in Indiana. After graduation, I was offered a job in Raleigh North Carolina and we have lived here ever since (except for a brief 15 months in Miami, FL). I am a Regional Operations Manager for a technology company. I enjoy management positions because I like to help others progress and succeed in their career. We have four children with ages ranging from 8 to 18.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because having guidance, discipline and structure in my life makes me happy. Our family life at home is very peaceful and I have no doubt that it is because we try to live the principles that Jesus Christ taught. We have our challenges and it isn't always easy. But when I see the pain and suffering in others that comes from being in a dysfunctional family, my heart aches for them. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the answer to many of Society's problems. If each family could see and experience the blessings that I've seen, our world would be a much better place. I invite you to ask questions. Have the courage and faith to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit. God loves you as His child. He wants you to be happy. Come and learn more about who you are and who you can become.

How I live my faith

I really try to live my faith every day. We have family prayer each night. We try to have family scripture study daily, but are not always successful. We have Family Home Evening (FHE) once a week. FHE is something our leaders encourage us to have. It is family time once a week where we have a short gospel lesson, an activity, and a treat. We discuss principles like repentance, tithing, modesty, sexual purity, love, patience, obedience, and others. FHE is a great blessing to our family. Members of the church who are willing to serve are extended responsibilities or callings. In my calling, I work with the youth in the area, which includes nine congregations. We plan youth dances, conferences, and other activities. I oversee the Seminary program in this area, which is where high school students study the scriptures for 45 minutes each morning before going to school. I have other responsibilities including leadership training, financial audits, and helping members advance in their spiritual progression. I often spend 20 hours or more per week in these responsibilities. I view these service opportunities as a great blessing to me and my family. Serving others makes me a much better husband and father.
