Hi I'm Cody

I grew up in Oklahoma and have always been a Mormon I have a wife, 5 children and 9 grandchildren.

About Me

I am a husband, father and grandfather and these are titles that I honor and respect. I enjoy outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, landscaping, golfing, etc. I worked for the same company for 34 years in various capacities including manager of Marketing and Finance divisions. My family and I have moved 12 times and lived in 5 different states in the US over this period of time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church because of the testimony I have received throughout my life that testifies to me of the truthfulness of the covenants that I have made with my Heavenly Father. Through this process I have gained a testimony that my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ love me and want me live in such a way that I can return to live with them again. I know if I will endure to the end, keeping the covenants that I have made at baptism in the temple that I will be able to fulfill Their desires.

How I live my faith

I have been active in my church my entire life. The majority of this time I have been involved with working with youth as a leader and a teacher. I have served as a scoutmaster and other Scout leadership positions numerous times. I enjoy working with the youth to help inspire and give them hope. In addition, I have had the opportunity to be involved in other church leadership positions: bishop (similar to a pastor), and leader of the men's organizations.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Cody
The Church has a mission to help those in need with no respect to their religious affiliation. I had the opportunity several years ago to participate in an all-day work group that travelled from Houston to Vidor, TX to assist with the hurricane damage caused by Hurricane Rita. We spent the entire day in one neighborhood and assisted anyone that needed help. Never once did we inquire as to their religious background. We try to follow the teachings of Christ and utilize our time and talents to help anyone who might be need of assistance. Show more Show less
