Hi I'm Dustin Lloyd

I have grown up and lived in Boise Idaho my entire life. I am on a mission in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young man who is convinced that he has the best parents in the world. I am grateful for the example that they have shown unto me, and the many qualities that they have instilled in me that will guide me for life. I am grateful to be the oldest of five and am excited to have the opportunity to be an example for them as I serve a mission for the church in Nevada. I play rugby for a school team, and we have had the wonderful opportunity to with my team get first in state. I enjoy spending time with my friends at school, and am very grateful for the impact that they have had in my life, and the examples that they have shown to me. I am also in the marching band, and enjoy being able to make friends and have yet another family there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of the many many blessings that have come from living the standards that the lord has put in place. I have a knowledge of the Plan of Salvation, this is God's plan to allow all of his children to come back and live with him again where there is no end to happiness united as an eternal family. I will have the opportunity to see, live with, and talk with those who have died before me, and I know that it will be a joyous reunion. I am a member because the fullness of the gospel is restored again in these the latter days, and this is the true church here on this earth. The church does not make you believe what they teach, in fact it is quite the opposite, you are encouraged to go to the lord and ask him if the church is true. This is how Joseph Smith gained his testimony of the church, and so it is with myself. I have come to know of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and have been so blessed because of it. There is one doctrine that encompasses everything in the church, and that is the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that Christ suffered for the sins of the world, and that he rose from the grave breaking the bands of death and allowing all of us to be resurrected and live with our father in heaven again. I know that it is only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ that we are able to live with our Father in Heaven again, and I am so grateful for Christ allowing me to repent and become closer and more like Christ. The church has helped me to become a better older brother, a better son, a better future father and a better Son of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my actions. I am extremely active in all church callings that I have ranging from someone who goes to other members houses to see how they are doing, and asking if then need any help, to leading the music is meetings. Another way I live my faith is by attending seminary at the high school. We have release time seminary, and with all of the classes that you have to take in order to graduate you can not fail even one class or you will have to forgo taking seminary. I love participating in seminary because I can feel the spirit and am able to have time to get closer to the lord in the world of high school were so much wrong is going on. While in school I try to exemplify what the savior would do if he was there. One way that I do this is by remembering that each of us is a son or daughter of God, and that he loves us just as much as he loves everyone else regardless of what you have done.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Dustin Lloyd
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the means by which we are able to live with our Father in Heaven again. Our Father in Heaven knew that we would make mistakes here on this earth, as a result of this knowledge he created a means whereby the demands of justice could be met while letting mercy have a place in our lives allowing us to live with our Father in Heaven again. This is now known as the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Christ was the only perfect being to ever come to this earth, and it was because of this that he willingly took upon himself all of the sins of the world. The demands of justice state that when we sin we can not live with our Father in Heaven again because we are unclean. Because Christ took upon him our sins we can become clean allowing us to allow mercy to come into our lives. Christ has told us that in order for his Atonement to play a role in our lives we need to repent of all of our sins and come unto Christ by getting rid of any actions and thoughts that are not in accordance with what God has commanded. When we utilize the Atonement in our daily lives we are allowing mercy to come into play which allows us to become clean from all sin, which in turn allows us to live with our Father in Heaven again. This is the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It is the only means by which we can live with our Father in Heaven again. Show more Show less
