Hi I'm Sean

I was born in California. I lived most of my childhood there until I moved to Arizona in high school. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of 3 boys ages 2-10 and a husband to a wonderful wife of almost 12 years (2014). My primary interests would include spending time with the family, learning new technology, and working on projects such as wood working or home improvement. As a family we enjoy watching movies, camping, and playing board games together. I have worked in the technology industry for over 20 years. I constantly take training or read books to improve this knowledge. I recently have begun to work with my older sons teaching them how to properly use tools for creating projects from wood and simple home improvement tasks.

Why I am a Mormon

During my life I was introduced to many different variations of Christian faith. My grandparents on my mothers side were Protestant, my grandparents on my fathers side were not consistent in their beliefs. My mother remarried when I was 7 to my stepfather who introduced us to the Catholic church. I was baptized shortly afterwards and attended Catholic church and schools throughout my childhood. My best friend as a child was Mormon. He was very active with the church as a young man and I assisted many times with anything from cleaning the church building to setting up/taking down chairs. I realized at that time how helpful and kind the people within the church were. I did not have another experience with the LDS church again until I met my wife in 2001 while attending school. When we started dating she brought me to the ward near our school where I again met some of the kindest and helpful people I had ever known. This inspired me to get baptized within the church shortly after. I became semi-active for a few years after we got married. I was struggling to find information... I had a lot of questions! Finally when I moved into my current ward I found the right group of people (bishops/stake president/etc.) that answered the questions that I needed to bring me back to full active status. I believe that this church is true, I believe that this is the church of the restored gospel, and I believe that we Thomas Monson is a true prophet of God.

How I live my faith

In the past year I have become much more active in the church. Last year I spent most of the year team-teaching the primary for 9 year olds (including my oldest son). This was a great experience for me as my partner teacher was born into the church making it much easier for me to learn from him and from the children as I assisted with the teaching. Because of this I not only strengthened my friendship with the partner teacher, but also learned a great deal that I only knew bits and pieces of prior. More recently I was called into the position of Ward Membership Clerk... again with the same friend that I taught primary with. I feel very blessed to have this calling. First I think it will strengthen my faith knowing that I will be helping the members of the church reach out to those that are inactive or less active by keeping records updated. It will also bring me closer to the members of the church as I fulfill requests to update records and assist members with record listings.
