Hi I'm Mary

I grew up in the beautiful Cache Valley. I'm serving a mission in Sacramento California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying Sociology and Finance. I am passionate about service, and I hope to use my degree to create a better world. I believe education is an important blessing, and it is a high priority in my life. I enjoy running. I have run many 5ks and two half marathons. Something unique about me is I like to collect, but I like to collect unusual things like mutant candy or playing cards I have found on the ground. I come from a large family, whom I absolutely adore, and I am so grateful to know that I can be with them not just in this life, but in the next.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a Mormon family, and I was always very happy living that lifestyle. For many years, I didn't question that what my parents had taught me was true. When I was 15, however, my father died, after being sick for over a year. This was very hard for our family. I knew that I needed my own personal testimony that families were eternal, and that I would be with my father again one day. As I prayed, more sincerely than I had ever prayed in my whole life, I felt the Spirit of God touch my heart. I know that not only will I see my Father again, but I have a Heavenly Father, who loves me very much, and is going to be there with me in the good times and the bad times. Because of that assurance, I was able to make the most of a rough situation, and I became happier than I have ever been. I am a Mormon not because it is something convenient to believe, but because I know in my heart that Christ truly loves us, and this is His church here on earth.

How I live my faith

Because of the joy that I have in this gospel, I have chosen to serve a mission to teach others about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have been called to serve in the Sacramento, California mission. For the next 18 months of my life, I will spend all of my time an energy helping others to learn of Christ, and feel the joy I have been so blessed with. I hope to love and serve the people of Sacramento in the same way the Savior already loves them, because He is our ultimate example.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Mormons believe that can live together forever even after death. Families are important to God. They are where we learn how to love. Our greatest joy can be found with our families, and so our Heavenly Father has provided a way for us to be with them forever. Families can be sealed together forever. Having lost my own Father, this has brought me much comfort, to know I will see him again, and that he will still be my father. Show more Show less
