Hi I'm Dannie

I'm Australian. I'm an aspiring author. And I'm Mormon.

About Me

I am the second youngest of seven children (four are step siblings but as I was six when my mother died and my father remarried when I was seven, I don't call them step. They are my siblings. I grew up with them, they are my siblings). I grew up in Australia's capital city; Canbrerra, and so, being Australian, I love Australian football (and I mean AFL not NRL or Union... AFL, the real Australian Football League). I enjoy rock climbing and exploring the outdoors. I would love to travel and experience all the outdoor gems of the world (the well known ones and the ones only the locals know about). I'm still young, I have plenty of time for that in the future, right now, I'm preparing to serve my mission. I'll be serving in the Australia Adelaide Mission starting in May. I can't wait. Along with loving the outdoors, I love reading books and writing. I LOVE writing. I want to be an author and I might fangirl over my own books as much as I do Tolkien's. Speaking of fangirling, I am a geek, a nerd, and I am not ashamed. As I said ealier, I'm going to be serving a mission and I could not be happier. It has been a very very long and hard road to get to this stage of finally hold my mission call in my hands and reading it out to my family. I can't wait to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both raised in the church so when they had their own children, they raised them in the church as well. It wasn't forced on me though. When I was younger, it was just what we did but as I got older It became my choice. I believed in the church. I believed it was the true church but I hadn't actually done anything myself to find out. When I was 13 I read the Book of Mormon for the first time, cover to cover. As I read I put what i was learning into practice. I saw how it blessed my life and those around me. When I finished it and prayed to see if it was true and therefore if the church was true I knew I had already got my answered. I already believed it the church and reading the Book of Mormon just confirmed my beliefs. I know the church is true, I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I help organize activities for the young single adults (unmarried 18 - 30 year olds) of the church in Canberra. The activities are fun and organized based on the like and needs of the people in that area. Along with living the values I have been taught as I grew up in the church I also live my faith by attending church every Sunday and another church class on Tuesdays nights called institute. I am currently preparing to serve a mission for 18 months starting in May. I will be dedicating that time serving the Lord, living my faith to the fullest and sharing it with the people in Adelaide.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Dannie
I love the outdoors. When I see all the beautiful and breath taking natural formations I can't help but think that there has to be someone who created it all. All they tiny beautiful details can't have been an accident. To me, the great outdoors is a giant proof that God is real. Show more Show less
