Hi I'm Ricardo

I grew up in New York City and live in Southern California now. I work in a helping profession. I am LDS.

About Me

I enjoy lots of things and thoroughly enjoy music. I have been happily married since 1997 and have two great kids. My life has taken me to serve a Church mission in Los Angeles, spend a few years in the US Marines, and go to college in Utah at BYU. I also love the New York Yankees. These are very busy years for me practicing my career, raising my kids, and enjoying all the time I can with my wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I learned of the Church through an aunt of mine and was baptized into the church at age 11. Since then, it has not been hard to make such decisions such as going to college or serving a mission. I have lived the principles of the gospel as best I can and continue to make an effort to do so because I know it's the ideal way to establish a foundation of happiness. I know God lives and loves us. His Son Jesus Christ is the greatest demonstration of that love and Christ's teachings are the key to experiencing joy in this life and in the world to come. To keep being reminded of those teachings, we have a living prophet today and he shows so much love in his counsel. He's just like any of us, and he is the Lord's spokesperson. This is Christ's church and there is room in this faith for all who wish to follow the Lord's example. I hope more of my friends can experience this love and these teachings to their benefit. This is my witness.

How I live my faith

I am in a position of leadership in my stake (the Catholic equivalent of a diocese) and assist in the administering/ministering of many. There are many occasions to help train and teach leaders assigned to oversee local congregations. My children do very well in school and are involved in learning musical instruments and baseball. Things are very busy in my life with my Church responsibilities, social work career, and home life. I wonder how I can do more but I know God would not give me more than I can handle. It's an extraordinary challenge to balance things, but I am confident God helps me and I do what I can to teach others, especially my children, to live the gospel. I try to be an example wherever I go, including work. It's a particular challenge in that environment.
