Hi I'm Kiera

I grew up in Portland, Oregon. I'm in the funeral industry and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a member all of my life. I'm the only daughter of two funeral directors and I'm an apprentice funeral director myself. I love to write stories and poetry; I love reading and watching movies. I love doing things with my friends and that they still love me when I'm a complete giggling idiot! :) Music is my constant companion whether I'm playing the piano or have the radio on 24/7. I love being the organist for my congregation even though I feel severely under-qualified most of the time. I have a fat cat named Prentiss and I can't wait for school to start so I can become a licensed embalmer!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life, but now that I'm an adult and it's a conscious choice I make to go each Sunday I have come to appreciate my religion and beliefs even more. Having faith in Jesus Christ and attending church has saved my life on several occasions. I have complete trust in my Father in Heaven and His son, Jesus Christ. They have a plan for me and I know everything will happen as it is supposed to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the very best I can be. Sometimes that merely means being better than the person I was the day before. I try my best to treat each person as God would have me treat them and that includes myself. My job is very emotionally, physically and spiritually involving. I come into contact with all kinds of people in varying forms of religious participation and religions and I love getting to know and understand their beliefs and customs. I love that my religion encourages us to be friends with and friends towards everyone, regardless of their faith and beliefs.
