Hi I'm Terry

I grew up in Honolulu Hawaii. I'm a convert to the Church and have been a Mormon for about 30 years.

About Me

I'm a Husband and a Dad. I have 3 children 2 are married with no children yet. My those in my family are not members except my oldest daughter who just joined last September - her husband is not a member. I'm an accountant in public practice for 35 years. I have been an active member of the Church since joining and my family's attitude about the Church has changed over the years from adversarial to supportive. They see that the Church is not what they originally thought, it is a positive influence and the members are good people.

Why I am a Mormon

At first, I thought the Church was not correct as far as their interpretation of the doctrines of Christ. A fellow worker joined the Church and my curiosity lead me to reading the Bible and I found out that I was incorrect and the Church was correct. I investigated the Church for 2 years before I joined. The Spirit of The Lord rested mightily on my soul and I knew that the Church was true. It came directly from The Lord, not from anyone's external influence.

How I live my faith

I am an advisor to a Samoan group in our area, and don't speak a word of Samoan. I know that this is the Lord's work and He helps me to be effective by providing Samoan members who help me understand what is going on. I also work in the Laie Hawaii temple on Wednesday nights. This assignment has been a tremendous blessing in my life. I get to help the Lord's work along in His sacred house am an Assistant Area Auditor for 8 stakes on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
