Hi I'm Ryanne

I'm an artist. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a college freshman studying exercise physiology. I love anything that can be done outside canoeing, hiking, weeding, you name it. I also love anything related to art, sculpting, painting, drawing, going to art museums, the whole nine yards. My favorite way to spend time with my family is going to rugby and volleyball games.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up as a Mormon, but as everyone needs to do, I had to know for myself if it was true. I've prayed, lived by faith, and studied. Through doing my best to do what's right, I've come to gain a testimony that this is Christ's church. As I keep living by faith, praying, serving, studying scripture, it's been reconfirmed to me that this is truth and this is where I need to be.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I prepare and teach lessons to the women in our student ward here on campus. During the week as I'm preparing, I study scriptures, pray for guidance for what to teach and help with whatever else is going on in my life that week. I look for opportunities to serve where ever I can, especially those I teach.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, church members aren't required to serve missions. Some of us choose to take 18 months-2 years out of our personal interests and serve as full-time missionaries who are official representatives of the Church. Most missionaries start service at 18-19. Many retired seniors also serve missions, with their spouse if they're able, or with other seniors if they're single. My grandparents served two full-time senior missions, one in Ukraine and one in Florida, I'm following in their footsteps preparing to serve in Texas. This is such a great privilege to be able to share with others my beliefs, what makes me happy and brings joy to me and those around me. Show more Show less
