Hi I'm Ashton D Perkins

I grew up in Central Utah. Mostly known as "Gods Country". I ranched all my days. Im a Mormon

About Me

I was raised on a family owned farm and then worked on the second largest ranch in Utah, i graduated High School in 2013 and worked construction for a long time. I am currently serving a mission in the Alaska Anchorage Mission in Fairbanks. Back home i did rodeo for a long time. i have two brothers and two sisters, and i just found out that i am going to be an uncle for the first time!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I continue to serve and be a disciple in Christs church because i feel joy that i want all to experience, if only for the time that i am trying to teach them.

How I live my faith

I was a Sunday School teacher for the 14-15 year olds in my ward just previous to my leaving for Alaska.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Ashton D Perkins
One reason that we don't is because of the example of Jesus Christ. Another is doing it for real intent. If a clergyman is doing his work for money, or for some selfish reason, the concern for the people that he is watching over is lessened, or possibly even not there. There's the old saying that if you want to find out who a man really is, watch what he does when he has some time to himself? Well what our clergy does when they have free time is serve those around him. A true disciple does on his off time what a paid clergyman does on the clock. Show more Show less
