Hi I'm Jasmine

I was born in Hawaii. I was raised in both Hong Kong and Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying into Business. Although currently i'm stuck at school for the next little while, I know that I want to improve lives regardless the major I choose. My brother is handicapped and that has been the biggest blessing of my life. He has had brain damage majority of his life so I was raised and taught by loving parents to serve and always do my best to improve the lives of everyone I come in contact with. I was blessed to intern in a cancer research lab where my passion for serving others continued to develop hands-on. I was able to see that service comes in so many shapes and forms. I felt that Business would be a desirable path because of its accessibility for me to accomplish many other traveling and service goals that I have. I plan to travel around the world and learn about new cultures, see the beauty of this world, and meet more amazing people. I always want to be active in service and learning. I love playing sports, hiking, cooking, and learning new hobbies.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to accept the LDS gospel into my life because of the love and hope I receive from being a part of this church. I have the knowledge that I was sent to this earth by a loving Heavenly Father with a purpose to learn about His gospel so that after this life I can create a world of my own with my family. I love that this gospel is centered on families. Family is so essential in reaching eternal salvation and it is through families that we are able to live this life. I am so grateful in knowing that my life has a purpose and has value to God. He created each and every one of us with a divine potential to be like our perfect brother Jesus Christ. I feel like this gospel has given me the hope that although I make mistakes and am far from perfect, it is through our Savior Jesus Christ that we are able to repent and improve ourselves. Knowing that I have a purpose here on this planet reminds me that I need to be actively seeking to bring happiness to other people's lives.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my faith every day. I live my faith through serving as much as I can. Whether it be to strangers, acquaintances, or close friends and family, I have made it my goal to always find a way to improve every life that I come in contact with. I have come to find that for me, "living my faith" means that I am continually seeking to build Heavenly Father's kingdom through spreading love. Just looking at all the terrible chaos and hardships that happen to everyone around the world, it is all too easy to recognize that life is hard, but SO worth it. With all of these terrible things happening around the world, if we are selfish and don't do our individual duties to serve, then this life is miserable and pointless. I believe this life is for us to gain as much knowledge as we can, get to know our God, and have a family and create happiness on this planet. I participate and organize service projects in my local community through participating in humanitarian projects, tutoring and playing with kids at the Boys and Girls Club, going to the old folk's home, raising money for service organizations, and participating in my University's service club. Service doesn't have to have a label on it, however. I find that just by smiling at everyone, socializing and holding good conversations, and just lending a hand to a passerby is something that is definitely service because it improves the lives of others as well as your own. Living my faith is done most easily for me when I am actively seeking to improve the lives of others because that is what the LDS church is all about; spreading the love of Christ.
