Hi I'm Alex

I'm from Utah. I play three varsity sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play basketball and run cross country and track at my school. I'm leaving on a mission July 23rd to Utica, New York. I'm the oldest of four children. My friends, sports, and my faith are my life! Without them, I don't know where I would be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. I would say that my testimony basically came from my parents--until about 2 years ago. I went through some stuff in my life that really made me rethink the choices I was making and the road I was following. I read the Book of Mormon cover to cover that year and obtained for myself a testimony of this amazing church and the wonderful gospel that it teaches. I can say now, without a doubt, that I know this church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it can and will change lives. I have a strong testimony of the Atonement. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true church on the earth through the power of Jesus Christ. I know Christ lives, and I know he will come again, and how great will that day be? My testimony, and this church as a whole, is a huge part of my life, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in my ward as 1st Assistant in the Priest Quorum. I also actively participate in Seminary and Missionary Preparation classes. As the oldest high-school-aged male in the ward, I'm usually in charge of directing Mutual and organizing other youth events.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Alex
"Missionaries are people who leave their families for two years so that others can be with theirs for eternity." This quote, in my opinion, describes perfectly the role of missionaries. Missionaries leave their families, their friends, and pretty much everything behind to devote themselves to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and helping to bring others to the joy and the light we have in our lives from that gospel.
