Hi I'm Helen Smith

I am the wife of 1, mother of 8, & grandmother to 7 & counting. I am a long arm quilter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a wife, mother & grandma! I enjoy music-singing/piano, reading, gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, designing, beekeeping, teaching, family history, scrap booking, and much more.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born to parents that joined the church prior to marriage & family, so the gospel has always been a part of my life. As I contemplate my life today - my husband, my children, my grandchildren . . . they are a result of my membership in the church. My hobbies & interests have come from others in the church sharing their talents and encouraging me to develop mine. I am grateful to have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to enjoy the blessings that have come due to my membership in His church.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving as the Primary President in our ward. This involves overseeing the Sunday gospel instruction for children ages 18 months to 12 years old; a week day Activity Girls program for girls ages 8-11; and the scouting programs for boys ages 8-11. I love when it's my turn to do Sharing Time gospel instruction on Sunday! Sharing my love for the gospel with the children is the best! I am also a member of The Mormon Choir of Washington, DC. I love the opportunity to sing weekly and perform for others - sharing the gospel & my testimony through music.
