Hi I'm Grant

I joined the Army to see the world. I'm a retired military officer and pharmacist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and have been a Mormon since I was a small boy. My mother had some disabilities but she taught me how to work hard and help others along the way. After finishing Pharmacy School I entered active duty in the Army. My sweet wife has traveled with me to different assignments throughout the United States from Texas to Alaska. After retiring from the military I became part-owner in a pharmacy. I love the outdoors, gardening and relaxing with the family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a household with loving parents. Even though I was a Mormon since early childhood my parents did not attend church. I felt a need to go to church and when I turned 12 I decided that I would never miss my Sunday meetings. I served as a missionary in Germany when I was 19 years old. That was one of the best experiences of my life. It was in Germany that I learned for myself what 'true religion' was about. Since that time,I have tried to offer my time and service to the Lord wherever He would like me to go. God knows so much more than I know. I just needed to trust Him more. Since those early days in my youth the Lord has blessed me to know with my mind and feel with my heart that He loves me and knows what is best for me. I have been blessed with many quiet moments when I have felt Him close to me.

How I live my faith

I have a great love for this country. I have camped, hiked, and even traveled many rivers with our youth. I have served the youth as a scout leader in many different assignments. They are the future. There is nothing better than to see the faces of the youth when they have accomplished some of the 'difficult' things that life hands them. I volunteer my time because I believe I can make a difference. I teach youth classes on Sunday and lead activities on Wednesday nights. We have fun learning together. I also have served in various adult leadership assignments in which I have been able to serve the members of our community and church.
