Hi I'm Adam Byerly

I'm from California, I love music, martial arts, and cars. I love my family and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy going to the movies and I love spending time with friends. I also love skateboarding and going to the beach. I love wrestling and martial arts and I am an Eagle Scout. Right now I am serving a mission in the Mississippi Jackson Mission. It is amazing here and I love the people! I decided to be a missionary because I wanted others to enjoy the same blessings that I do from the true gospel. I want others to have the same happiness that I have by living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have an older brother who served his mission in Virginia and has been a great example to me all of my life. I also have two you younger siblings who bring a ton of excitement and joy into my life, and my parents are my best friends. My family is awesome! They have been such a great influence throughout my life and have helped me learn and grow in the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and I am so grateful for that blessing. I am a Mormon because I know that this church is the only true church on the earth today. I know this because I have read and studied the Book of Mormon and I have prayed to know that it is the word of God. I feel peace when I go to church and I know that by going to church and learning that I grow closer to God and strengthen that relationship. I have witnessed the blessings that come from living the gospel and I wouldn't want to live my life any other way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to turn outward as often as I can. I am not perfect, but when I try to align myself with Christs perfect example, I am happy and I am able to become a better person. If you are upset or discouraged, or you feel like you are stuck, help someone else and see what happens.

Are Mormons Christians?

Adam Byerly
The name of the church is The Church of JESUS CHRIST. I hope this answers your question. Show more Show less

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

Adam Byerly
The church began when Christ came to the people and established His church and His authority. In the 1800's Joseph Smith, under the direction of Christ, restored the same church with the same authority. Because of this restoration we can fully enjoy the blessings that come from Christ's gospel. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Adam Byerly
We proselyte to share the fulness of the gospel with the world and we have been commanded to do so by a living god. There are many people in this world who need Christ in their lives but do not know where to find it. Our calling is to help anyone who is willing, to come to the Savior. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Adam Byerly
Our church does not have paid clergy because it is the same church that Christ established when he was on the Earth. It didn't have paid clergy then, so why would it now? Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Adam Byerly
The Word of Wisdom teaches us to put healthy things in our bodies and teaches that moderation is key. It also teaches us not put things in our bodies that are addictive or that dull us from the influence of the Holy Ghost. The least obvious of the "do nots" are coffee and tea. Think about how many people have to have a coffee every morning. What happens when they don't get that coffee? They become physically wrecked and or their attitude completely changes. I am serving a mission is Mississippi and Louisiana right now and I have seen the same affect on people that drink tea regularly. When you allow yourself to partake of these things, whether they seem "ok" or not, you lose self control whether you notice it or not. One more thing to think about since there is such a hype about marijuana. If your high can you listen to God? You can't, and if you think you can, ask God and he will tell you that you can't. What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Adam Byerly
The purpose of welfare services in the church is to help people learn how to work and provide needed comfort until they are self sustaining. To work six days a week is a commandment from God. The Church welfare services help people keep the commandments. Show more Show less

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Adam Byerly
Ephesians 4 teaches us that the apostles are suppose to be on the earth "Till we all come in the unity of the faith". Is the worlds faith really unified? It is not but it will be and this is evident in the churches rapid and widespread growth, which the apostles are completely involved in. Show more Show less
