Hi I'm Kory

I am a writer, author, marathon runner, Medicare specialist, corporate trainer, and father of five. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Kory. I'm married with 5 children. I was born to teach. I run marathons and do some acting. I graduated from BYU with a degree in Theater and love to write, and to play tennis. I'm a huge fan of "Survivor" and "Once Upon a Time." I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for multiple reasons. I know that family units are meant to be eternal and my greatest gifts from God are my wife and five children. They help me to improve daily and to overcome my weaknesses. I love the Book of Mormon as I know it is truly another Testament of the veracity of the life, teachings, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that there is a prophet on the earth today, just as existed in eras past, and that the heavens remain open in order for God to guide us today. Because He loves us, He has given us the opportunity to overcome our weaknesses in this life and to become more like Him to prepare us to return to live in His presence. I have been through a divorce, which devastated me emotionally. I have learned that our Savior's love can heal all wounds and help us to forgive ourselves of our many mistakes. I know that Christ gave His life so I may be forgiven for my transgressions. I look forward to a glorious reunion and hope to hear Him say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of my rest." I know that the greatest gift we have been given by our Creator is the gift of choice. More of my story about my choices in this life in regards to my personal struggles can be found on the LDS Voices of Hope website @ http://www.ldsvoicesofhope.org/voice.php?v=1. May God bless each one of us to see our Divine potential and help us to rise to meet it. It has been said that "If we could see all that God knows us to be, we would rise up and never be the same."

How I live my faith

I am involved at church as the Ward Mission Leader, which means I work with the LDS Missionaries on a regular basis to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also teach in the "High Priest's" class monthly. I have worked in the Temples (where Mormons make solemn promises with God to obey His commandments). I try to love my fellow man with no respect to race, color, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. I strive to remember my Savior's example daily and to live in a way that would make him proud. I am a work in progress and try to acknowledge that each day is a gift and to make the most of it by being the best me I can be each day. I wear my heart on my sleeve and "enjoy warm hugs."
