Hi I'm Sarah Wood

I love listening to Jazz music. I love Utah mountains, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My two main things are mountains and music. I absolutely love being outdoors and being able to enjoy the scenery of wherever I happen to be, but there is nothing like climbing upwards to reach a destination and being able to see where you came from once you get there. Now for music? Jazz is where it's at. I love the sultry sounds of Chet Baker or Frank Sinatra. My troubles simply melt away when they're in the room.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and always loved the feelings and friends I gained from attending church. It wasn't until I started middle school that I decided I needed to know for myself what I really was trying to accomplish in this lifetime. I started by reading the Book of Mormon and gained the strongest confirmation that it was the truest book after I had finished and prayed about it. Everything continued to grow upward after that as my testimony started to build. I learned that the only way to become truly happy is to strive towards the larger goal of becoming like Christ. It took me a while to be comfortable acting upon the spiritual promptings I began feeling on a regular basis, but as I started to act I saw that my heart was changing and it was affecting the people around me in the best way. Christ was selfless, He was kind, merciful, loving, and just perfect. I can't describe the feelings that I try to be like Him, and the feelings I get when I am keeping the commandments and living the way that is pleasing to the Lord, but I know that I never ever want to lose those feelings of peace, hope, and love that I have for my family and for mankind.

How I live my faith

I love people! I want to make the days brighter for everyone I come in contact with, so I act on my faith in Jesus Christ by trying to be like him every day. I try and reach out to those around me, even if it's simply lending a hand for a few minutes or giving a passing smile in the hallway. I want to help people any way I am able to, so I get involved in service project as often as I can. I've volunteered for a handicap bowling league and a marathon lately and I love being there for people. The love I am able to give by participating in projects or visiting a friend is nearly incomparable to anything else in the world except for the love I feel back. It feels so wonderful to know that in the big and the little things, God is working through my hands to serve His children.
