Hi I'm Levi

I have a great family. My mission and my faith has changed my life. I love my life and I am a Mormon

About Me

I love anything to do with the ocean or a lake. I love wake boarding, water tubing, surfing, spear fishing and snorkeling. The next thing I am planning to do is go to college at BYU. I hope to become a mechanical engineer and focus on making prosthetic limbs for people. I love my family and I love to spend time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I have always had my parents supporting me in the church. I went through the motions of church but I had never really come to know that the church was true. I have made a lot of mistakes like everyone has but the mistakes I had made were haunting me even after I had turned aspects of my life around. One day, I could no longer take the stress and pain that I was feeling and so I took a good friend aside and expressed the things I was feeling. I told him I just wanted to be clean and free of my guilt. At that very moment, I felt something leave me. It was so tangible and I felt it leave. I felt the burden I had been carrying leave and I could feel the love of my Heavenly Father flood my being. The power of God has changed me in a way I never could have. I know that the God I worship and the way I worship has shaped and changed my life. I feel comfort and joy from the gospel because it teaches me that I have a loving Heavenly Father and if I just strive to become more like Jesus Christ and abide by his teachings, I can live with him again. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the earth. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today. I know that by following the gospel of Jesus Christ, we can feel true joy and happiness. I bear my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I recently have really understood how to live my faith. I was reading the book "The Continuous Atonement" by Brad Wilcox and something struck me that has played a role in my life ever since. Brad Wilcox presented and analogy about a child and piano lessons. The parent pays for the piano lessons and it is really up to the child if they will learn anything from them. The parent hopes that the lessons will be utilized but it is up to the child. Like that, Jesus Christ has paid for all of our sins and in return, he just asks us to follow him. He has already paid the price, it is just up to us to utilize them. Knowing this, I understand that I have not only an opportunity but an obligation to be the best I can be by following Jesus Christ. This understanding of Christs gospel has brought me so much happiness in my life.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Prayer is our direct communication to our heavenly father and if we read the word of god (the scriptures), we will come to know there is a loving heavenly father. Show more Show less
