Hi I'm Matt Dayton

I grew up in Utah, I am a senior in high school, I love sports, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a senior in high school living in Utah. I love to play and watch sports. I love basketball and football and I love the Utah Jazz and BYU Cougars. I was a member of my high school golf team all four years that I have been in high school. I really enjoy school and excel in math and science. I love my family! I have two brothers and one sister, I am the youngest in my family and the only child still living at home.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life. While I have always been a member, there came a point in my life where I needed to decide what I truly believed. I realized that I could no longer lean on the testimonies of my family and church leaders and really needed to find out for myself what I truly believed. After much prayer and scripture study, I received the answer that I had been searching for. I came to know that this is the only true church on the world today. I continue to follow His gospel because of this reason. I know that this is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's church in these latter days. I also know that he translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it contains the fulness of the gospel. I know that if you read it and ask God with all of your heart if it is true, that you will receive an answer that it is true. I also know the Christ atoned for all the sins, pains, sicknesses, and afflictions of everyone that will ever live on this earth. I know that if we put our faith in Christ that he will help us through anything that we go through. I know that because of the plan that God has laid out for us, that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, that we can all make it back to live with our Father in heaven and our families forever. I have come to know all of these things gradually through living the gospel, reading the scriptures, and praying. I love this gospel and it means more to me than anything in the world.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of my ward. I hometeach two families with my father and I love the families that I teach. I am in the presidency of my youth group and try and participate in our activities as much as I can. I also try and give serve as much as I can. I have just recently been called to serve as a missionary and have been called to serve in the Chile Concepción South Mission. I report to the Mexico Missionary Training Center on August 13, 2014. I love the scriptures and strive to read them daily. I love this gospel and am continually trying to be more like Christ.
