Hi I'm Mandy

I'm a wife and mother of four who enjoys cooking, board games, hiking, camping and exercising.

About Me

I grew up in a small country town with all of my extended relatives within thirty minutes. My family was the only Mormon family in town, so consequently my brother and I were the only Mormons at school. We are also the only Mormon members in our extended family. I attended BYU-Idaho where I met my husband, and graduated from BYU with a bachelors in Psychology. I would love to eventually go back to school and become a marriage and family therapist. Currently I enjoy staying home with our four lovely children while my husband attends graduate school.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with my immediate family being the only members among our extended relatives and the only members in our small country town. I always believed what I was being taught at church. It just felt right, but it wasn't about half way through my teenage years that I desired to know for myself. I had just attended a summer girls' camp where other campers had shared their testimonies of Jesus and the gospel. I wanted to know for sure, like they did. I approached the missionaries for guidance on how this could be done. They suggested that I pray, fast and attended a showing of the "Lamb of God" video. I followed their instructions and the Holy Ghost fell upon me with such power and surety that I could not deny it. I learned that day, for myself that Jesus Christ is real. He did come to this earth. He did suffer for our sins. He did die upon the cross and He was resurrected. I know that I have a Savior, in Heaven, who loves me and who gave Himself so that I could repent and become better.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith in my daily interactions with others. I try to be an example of kindness and charity to those around me. I am by no means perfect and have a lot of things to work on but I strive to follow the Saviors example of service. The Mormon faith and the significance of the family are almost inseparable. As a mother to four children I often receive comments about "having my hands full" or "being a busy mom" to which I try to respond by sharing the joys of motherhood and the eternal importance of families.
