Hi I'm Michael

I like to hunt, fish, play instruments and sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young man who loves to be outside. I love to go for long bike rides, go camping, hunt, fish, and travel. I like to tinker and work on anything that moves. I also have a great interest in music. I love to play piano, organ, my saxophone and I love to sing! I believe that music can bring us closer to God in different ways than that of prayer and studying the scriptures. The reason we feel emotional when we listen to, play, or sing is because the different kinds of synapsis happening in our brain. So there's a little Science, but that's why I love music. It's a different way I can worship God. I didn't have the best home life when I was young, but I was blessed at the age of 8 to be adopted by Paul and Jenifer Gross. I love my new family sooo much! And I still do! They have taught me the path in which I should go. I have had the opportunity to accept the Gospel for myself, and was baptized at the age of 9. I was blessed to find a family with this faith. Currently, I am serving my mission in Pocatello, Idaho. There are so many other things that I could be doing at the age of 19. I couldn't think of anything better to do than to serve the Lord, and bring others unto Christ. Once a Missionary, always a Missionary.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon can be really difficult and challenging. I know there have been times in my life when I have lost my faith, and have wandered of the path of Righteousness. As you forget to do the simple Christian walk, (Pray, Read the Scriptures, Attend Church, Keep Worthy, and Give Service) your life will start to get pretty hard, and can get miserable. We need to remember these simple things, they are necessary for Exaltation! I struggled with this for a long time. I like to have proof for why things are, and hence they came. I have always believed in God and Jesus Christ, but I did not believe in the Book of Mormon. I was sure the Church wasn't true. I thought it wasn't possible that a 14 year old boy could see God and Jesus Christ. But then one day, things began to change. I started to read the Book of Mormon to try and prove it wrong, and I studied Joseph Smith and his background. Then I read Moroni 10:3-5, which exhorts us to pray, and ask God if these things are not true, so I did just that. When I prayed I felt the Spirit so strong, and I felt that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ and translated the Book of Mormon through power of God. I felt that the whole Church was true, that Thomas S. Monson was a true prophet of God. I couldn't deny that feeling and power which I felt, and I certainly cannot deny it now.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my faith every day. I am a missionary, and a representative of Jesus Christ. I try and strive to be like him and follow his example. I know I am not perfect, but we can only become perfected through the healing power of the Atonement. I share His divine message, how great is the goodness of our God, that he gave his only son, so that we can return to live with him. I do my best to be an example to others, as I wear Christ's name on my white shirt, every day. I often think of the Primary Song, "If the Saviour stood beside me, would I do the things I do? If the Saviour stood beside me, would I say the things I say?" This little song helps me to follow the Commandments that have been given to us, to Pray, Read and Ponder the Scriptures, go to Church, Stay worthy of a Temple Recommend, and give acts of Daily Service. This is how I live my Faith. I strive to be a better person every day, turning myself toward God and Jesus Christ.
